I ordered this reel for myself to fish occasionally. I have not had any problems with it and I would recommend the reel for the weekend fisherman-or woman!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad reel, March 20, 2012
This review is from: Zebco 33 Authentic Spincast Fishing Reel (Sports)
I agree with the person in the other review. This reel is junk. My older Zebco's work pretty good still, but upon buying a newer one thinking I was upgrading myself, I was soooo wrong. I hooked a large fish and the gears immediately stripped out. My son was quick thinking and grabbed the line and we saved the fish, but that's not the fishing I wanna do! Contacted Zebco, and what a joke. Another good American company going in the wrong direction.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk, April 7, 2010
This review is from: Zebco 33 Authentic Spincast Fishing Reel (Sports)
My son has my old 33 which works pretty good for its age. I bought another one last year and i am soooo disappointed in how cheap they have become. I dont know what kind of fishing other people do but when i hook a fish i want to be able to reel them in not have to grab the line with my hand and pull. Yes, I had to get into the water and keep pulling the not small but not large bass out of the water. Why? The gears stripped on me. Thats all it takes for me i dont waste my money on junk. Sometimes it is just best to spend a little more money and have something that will last.
