nice and smooth in the begining but after the fourth bass,none of witch was a keeper,there was some slight grinding felt.i was casting a ava-37 w/ 30# power-pro

I PURCHASED THIS REEL AND THE FOLLOWING HAPPENED:

1) The pivot arm that open and closes reel broke.I had to reorder one and the one that arrived was different from one that originally came with reel. The one that was installed on my 8000 originally was smaller probably a smaller model and this is the reason it broke. Have had no problems since

2) The pinion ball bearings have gone bad and I have not caught much fish on this reel. Still have to order bearings but still using reel since my location is in an island in the CARRIBBEAN and it cost a lot to order items etc.

Overall expected much more to this reel that what was being advertised
