The Classic CL and CLX features a bushing drive, a dependable multi-disc Rubidium drag system, aluminum power handle with T-style knobs, self lubricating gear system, and a stainless steel levelwind line guide system.

it is a pretty good reel the star drag is excellent
If you are putting this on a surf rod would not be the best choice its not that big and cant hold as much line as you would need for that. I got 200 yds of 30lb test so its not as bad as you would think
Would be excellent for a short casting rod the spool does not need alot of weight to start spinning and it doesnt get out of control when it does would be easy to stop overall I like it the only reason I gave it 4 stars is cause I did not know how big it was and I had already spent the money on 2 day shipping which I would not be reimbursed for
I am currently using it on a 10ft surf rod so It works just fine
