This reel is built like a tank. The gearing is strong and smooth. The casting controls are very precise. i own several. Late May 2011, landed a 35lb. carp and two 20+ lb cats. great value for the money.

I had this reel for one day and I already want to buy more. I've used it 1 time and landed four 6lb large mouths with this reel. It is a great buy for intermediate,or just your everyday fishermen. Even beginners who are just starting off with baitcasters.
